BACK TO THE ROOTS

After initially experimenting with painting in a completely different style, Barbara has returned to the brush and the art of the Old Masters. These new paintings are a nod to her sculptures and her first profession, the restoration of antique paintings. Barbara has always had a predilection for 17th-century works. These pieces are based on the theme "Take your drugs and Keep Calm." They are oil paintings executed using the glazing technique on chamfered oak panels. The "drugs" in the sachets are her sculptures reimagined in 2D.
